Retail

The
Chamber, true to its roots rebirthed its
Retail Council in 2005.
Connecting its West Elm district,
with McHenry North and its downtown area,
the mission of this group is simple;
“Keep Business at Home.”
Selected committee members meet quarterly in
the Chamber
office, 1257 N. Green St.
New initiatives include:
•
Door Stickers encouraging Shop McHenry
First.
•
“Candy Cane Award” for the best
McHenry business window displays.
•
Swan Award for building improvements and new
commercial
•
Commercial
Matching Grant
On behalf of the Retail Council, the Chamber
board of directors approved a matching grant
for businesses making improvements to their
facility.
McHenry’s first phase of its Riverwalk
will be completed December of 2006. The McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce believes this will be
the biggest boon to our downtown community
since it’s early beginnings as “Gateway
to the Chain of Lakes.”
Already we enjoy a winery, upscale antiques,
collectibles, fine restaurants and craft
shops. We invite your to visit our downtown area.
