WHAT IS YOUR PERSONAL BRAND?
What is your personal brand? In other words, how do people perceive you? How do you perceive yourself? Is your perception correct? How do you find out?
In the arena of gaining success through personal relationships, this becomes crucial for an organization’s competitiveness in the marketplace. People want to conduct business with individuals they know, like, and trust. Is your personal brand worthy?
Most of us like to think of ourselves in a positive way, so it is important to do a true internal analysis. Some ways to do this is through a personal SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Threats) analysis or through talking with those who know us and want the best for us. Are you impatient? Are you caring? Are you an introvert or an extrovert? What motivates you? Fear? Competitiveness? What are your values? Passions? How do these play out with clients?
Appearance? All part of personal branding. Is your appearance appropriate to the clients you meet? Not everyone should carry a designer purse or wear a suit when meeting with a prospective client. Know your clients and dress appropriately.
How do you communicate? Can you discern the communication style quickly of those you meet and adapt quickly to their ways of relating to others?
Knowing your personal brand is essential for workplace success.
