Sue Miller Installed as Treasurer of Illinois REALTORS®

Licensed in real estate since 1987, Miller is a member of the Heartland REALTOR® Organization in McHenry County. She served two terms as president of her local association and was twice named its local REALTOR® of the year. She is the past president of the Lakes Area REALTORS® Association serving southeastern Wisconsin.

At the state level, she has been involved in a number of working groups and committees and has chaired the Grievance Committee and the Ethics Citation Panel. An industry trainer as well as REALTOR®, Miller is committed to promoting education, ethics and professional development. She has served multiple terms as chair of the Education Working Group and is a long-time member of the Real Estate Educational Foundation’s board of directors. In 2017, Miller was honored as the statewide Illinois REALTOR® of the Year. Miller understands the power a strong REALTOR® political advocacy program can have on the industry and is a “Sterling R” contributor to the REALTORS® Political Action Committee. In 2013, she was honored with the Illinois REALTORS® Distinguished Service Award. At the national level, Miller has served on the National Association of REALTORS® Board of Directors and has served on a variety of committees including: Equal Opportunity-Cultural Diversity, Real Property Valuation, Land Use Property Rights and Environment and Federal Financing and Housing Policy.

She is a member of the Women’s Council of REALTORS®, the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers and the Real Estate Buyer’s Agent Council. She is a past president of the Illinois Chapter of the Council of Residential Specialists. A resident of McHenry, Miller is committed to giving back to her community. She is a longtime board member of the McHenry Elementary Education Foundation and the McHenry Area Chamber of Commerce, which honored her as its “Woman of Accomplishment” in 2016. McHenry County Magazine named Miller one of its “Women of Distinction” in 2018. She has held leadership positions with the McHenry Nunda Public Library District, Riverside Area Business Association and the nonprofit community growth planning group, Imagine McHenry County.

Miller was installed as treasurer at the Illinois REALTORS® Installation Ceremony on Oct. 4 at the Westin Lombard Yorktown Center in Lombard. Other 2019 officers are: President-elect Ed Neaves, managing broker of Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Snyder Real Estate in Bloomington; and Immediate Past President Matt Difanis, ABR, CIPS, GRI, co-owner of RE/MAX Realty Associates, with offices in Champaign, Mahomet and Monticello.

NOTE: Dan Wagner resigned from the association’s leadership team this summer before he began his term as president. The Illinois REALTORS® Board of Directors voted on Oct. 4 to keep the position of president vacant in 2019 and divide the duties of the office among the rest of the leadership team.
